Game jam noobs strike again

Hello!

Sanspapyrus683FloatingToucan, SimplyNarwall, and I decided to participate in game jams once again during this summer! And for our first pick, we decided to join the annual largest Itch game jam GMTK 2021 !!!

Gotta be honest, we haven't touched unity a bit since the last time we published a game (which was like 350 days ago). Our skills are rusty and time is real tight. We have almost forgotten how to even code in c# and set up UIs and sprites in Unity! To make the matter worse, we only participated in game jams 7 - 14 days long before, this game jam, however, is only 48 hours!

We had a lot of cool and great ideas pop up in our brainstorm session, but the most unique one that stood out to us is the idea we are presenting to yall right now -  a Tetris-like stick-stack puzzle game.

However as cool as it sounds, the mechanics required to code it was much more difficult than we expected. We have to code our own algorithms to make our ideas work. When we finished our prototype 3/4 of the game jam is already over. We playtested the levels and left unsatisfied, new bugs are introduced and the overall rotation mechanic just felt unintuitive to new players.

Unfortunately for us, other than the mechanics part, we still got other aspects of the game to worry about. But now we have learned our lessons and refreshed. We shall make our next game be the best one yet!

Ok enough of me ranting here again. One more game jam down the line, and our game will be much better. Stay tuned for our next game!
